Abstract
  • This publication is a comprehensive review of health care and policy issues. It contains a calendar of events for the months June to August 2000 as well as discussion of key policy issues. Specific areas dealt with in this issue include: the NHS Plan; public attitudes towards the NHS between 1989 and 1998; the concordat with the private health care sector; new Labour and primary health care; public health theory and practice of the current government; professional self-regulation in health; waiting times targets; long-term care finance reform; management of the NHS; and the three main political parties' policies on health and health care. The next edition of Health Care UK will be published in Spring 2001.
