Abstract
  • This booklet was produced to serve as a reminder of the wide range of services given by hospital porters, and especially the part they play in patient care. It discusses the need for training and draws attention to the training now available. Providing a portering service calls for management skills which need to be developed by training. The work of the National Association of Hospital Head Porters in this context is examined.
