Abstract
  • This book aims to stimulate discussion and action about the serious difficulties facing the NHS in industrial relations. It aims to help the development of more effective industrial relations which the NHS badly needs and looks at how improvements might be made realistically within the current framework of management. Chapters cover legal aspects of discipline and dismissal, disputes and grievance procedures, consultation and negotiation. The role of managers and professional associations are examined and attention paid to special industrial relations problems in the nursing and medical professions.
