Abstract
  • This project was undertaken to collect information on the services offered to people with learning difficulties. During the course of the project the idea of collecting `critical incidents' was suggested by some of the participants to elicit gaps in coordination. (For the purpose of this project a critical incident is an occurrence detrimental to the well-being of the client. It has a strong emotional content and has been experienced by the person who brings it for discussion. Something goes wrong, an action takes place (or is omitted) which causes the client to suffer in some way: there is a failure to provide him or her with the adequate and efficient service he needs.) The aim of this booklet is to develop a method of teaching and training which is guided by the students themselves. The tools are incidents in the work situation which demonstrate a serious gap in the service to a client.
